Greetings, Evildoers.

Well hey there! I'm Jen Silverman, I'm a comic art major at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and I like making stuff. Pretty stuff. Because really, who doesn't like stuff?

So I just finished marathoning all of Hannibal.  All the shots of Hannibal’s cooking were making me super hungry (not sure what that says about me considering what the, ahem, *protein* probably was) so I decided to paint food while I watched.  Except now I want real food.

Mmmmm.  Food.

Got bored.  Did a tiny ink wash painting on the most nonsensically small canvas I could find.  Deal with it.

This was originally a submission for a Minecraft t-shirt design contest that never made it up for voting.  Now it’s just fanart.  Oh well, it was still fun to draw.

It seems I’ve gained quite a few new followers recently, so I figured I’d say hi with a quick updated self portrait.  I haven’t drawn one in a while, plus my old ones are sadly lacking my furbabies.  So a big hello to you lovely folks who have stumbled upon my little corner of the internet this week (and to those who have been putting up with me for a while), and happy tumbling!  :D

I just found this lil guy on my desk today after completely forgetting about him.  I bought a black canvas a while ago for shits and giggles and wasn’t sure what to put on it, so I decided to just grab some paint and just go for it without planning anything in advance.  And lo, the party platypus was born.  It’s acrylic paint & ink on a lil bitty 3x3 inch canvas.

Along with this guy, I also found a pack of untouched 2x2 inch canvases.  Looks like it’s time to make more tiny, stupid paintings!  Huzzah!

Okay.  I did it.  I jumped on the Pokefusion bandwagon.

Can’t stop doodling.  Colored a thing I drew while bored in a coffee shop last week.  Wheeeeeeeee~

This is the entirety of my book Gregory the Dumb lil Monster!  The whole book was hand made (screen printed, hand-bound, and cut/folded page-by-page), which was quite the experience.  Lots of work, but a lot of fun.  I made an edition of ten books, seven of which are still available and for sale (message me if you’re interested in a copy).

I have to say, I’ve grown rather fond of Gregory.  Maybe fond enough to make a sequel…  ;D

Today wrapped up an awesome weekend at Springcon!  I was at the Dead Comics Society table with some of the lovely ladies of the MCAD comic department- Liz Glein, Jaime Willems, Mayme Thompson, and Leigh Luna.  We spent our weekend selling comics (and then promptly spending our earnings on other comics), meeting other artists (as well as seeing some familiar faces, like the wonderful Jim Keefe, who took the upper picture), and, as you can see in picture #2, sometimes doofing around on twitter or playing draw something.  PROFESSIONALISM!
