Greetings, Evildoers.

Well hey there! I'm Jen Silverman, I'm a comic art major at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and I like making stuff. Pretty stuff. Because really, who doesn't like stuff?

The opening sequence of Sharknado 2 was a cinematic masterpiece the likes of which has never been seen and no one can convince me otherwise.

Okay, I normally stick to art-related things on here…but maybe I feel like rambling about my hair today.  For those of you who don’t know me, my favorite hobby is doing what I call “hair experiments”.  I’ve had all sorts of cuts and styles, and my hair’s been almost every color of the rainbow.  Except white.  It was the only color I’ve never quite managed, mostly because my hair is naturally very dark and lightening it to that extent without it all falling out was gonna be a big job.  It took over two months of slow, incremental bleaching/toning (which is why I was rockin’ that hideous bleach blonde color at Springcon and Wizard World) but as of today I have won the battle!  So now I have to gloat because I feel like the friggin’ Khaleesi.  >:D

And then I immediately dyed part of it purple because I’m a big dumb baby who likes pretty colors.

Okay, back to art now.  Hope you guys don’t mind the random personal post, but if any of you would like to hear more about my hair experiments from time to time let me know!

CROSSHATCHING HECK YEAH

This is the first half of a short story I’ve been working on between other projects for a while now.  This monstrosity has taken quite a bit of time because of the crosshatching, but I really want to finish it once I’m done with my current freelance project.  Just thought I’d share in the meantime :D

I made a thing for a logo contest and I hope she likes it ahhhhhhhhh

These are character designs for a series of short stories I’ll be illustrating!  I’ll get you guys more details as the project progresses, but if you’re curious then please do check out the lovely author I’m working with, Conrad Zero.
