Hey guys, I got my first book review! Yay!! When I was tabling with DCS at Autoptic last summer we were introduced to Rob Clough of The Comics Journal, and he was kind enough to write a review of many of our books. His feedback is thoughtful and honest, and I’d encourage you to click through to get a glimpse of some great work by some really talented folks. Plus Rachel Topka’s centaur comic is pictured in there, and that comic is probably my favorite thing in the universe. Just sayin’.
Thursday, November 14th is Give to the Max Day, an annual fundraising occasion for non-profits in Minnesota. We’re planning to do AUTOPTIC on a biannual basis. 2015 is going to be a 2-day affair with more international artists, a larger music component, and generally more awesomeness all around. Every little bit makes a huge difference! Give here: http://givemn.razoo.com/story/Autoptic
Autoptic is a super cool convention put on by some super cool people! I was fortunate enough to get to table at the first one, and it was amazing. Here’s hoping for many more years to come :)
I finished off that viking sorceress illustration with some photoshop coloring tips I got from the lovely Chan! I think it worked out pretty well. I’ll have to steal her secrets more often.
Also, the original inks for this and some colored digital prints will be available for sale at the upcoming MCAD Art Sale! Hope to see you there!
So last year I bought a nice drawing table and rearranged my room to also function as a studio, and spent all sorts of time and money making it into a cozy workspace. And I still do 99% of my work in the living room, curled up in my armchair with no real drawing surface to speak of besides my lap. I am terrible.
Also, sneak peek at some illustrations I’m working on… They involve maiko and viking sorceresses. You know you’re excited, don’t lie to me.
blenderweasel reblogged your photo and added:LET’S STAND IN THE CORNER OF RANDOM ROOMS AT MCAD…

Yes. This. Perfect. Also, I need to make a dog park sign and we can put it above random doorways and refuse to let people enter.
